Somers Brewin

Director, Head of Real Estate

Somers specialises in the structuring and placement of W&I and title insurance for UK and international real estate M&A and refinancing transactions. He has arranged numerous policies for a broad range of clients, including corporates, institutional investors and private equity firms.

Before joining HWF in February 2026, Somers was the Head of Real Estate within the transactional risk team of a global insurance broker.

Prior to his career in insurance, Somers spent six years as a corporate real estate lawyer at Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer LLP, advising on some of the highest‑profile real estate transactions in the UK market. He was also seconded to the energy team in Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer LLP’s Singapore office and to the Blackstone Real Estate legal team.
