Sofia Maldonado

Associate

Sofía Maldonado is an associate within the Iberia transactional risk practice of HWF Partners, where she acts as M&A insurance advisor specialising in private equity transactions.

Prior to joining HWF, Sofía spent almost six years as a corporate and private equity lawyer at Linklaters Spain, where she acquired substantive experience advising sponsors, investors and corporates on M&A, private equity and sponsor led transactions on complex domestic and cross border deals.

Her practice focuses on the structuring, negotiation and placement of transactional risk insurance solutions across the full deal lifecycle. In particular, private equity transactions, structured acquisitions and competitive auction processes, where her team works closely with sponsors, management teams and legal advisers to deliver efficient and pragmatic insurance outcomes.

Prior to joining Linklaters, she obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera CEU and an LL.M (Master of Laws) from IE Law School in Spain.
