Jacob Melville-Smith

Jacob joined the London team in 2023, and since then has worked on numerous transactions across the world in a broad range of sectors, from SME transactions to deals £2bn+ in value.

 Recent experience includes:

• Working on the W&I insurance policy for Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a part of BlackRock on their significant investment in Lanes Group Limited; the leading wastewater solutions provider in the UK.
• Working on the W&I insurance policy for DWS Group and OMERS Infrastructure in their acquisition of Grandi Stazioni Retail S.p.a., which holds the exclusive rights to manage the commercial and advertising spaces in 14 of Italy’s major railway stations and hubs for the high-speed rail network, from Antin Infrastructure Partners, ICAMAP and Borletti Group.
• Working on the W&I insurance policy for TDR Capital’s acquisition of Jollyes-The Pet People, one of the largest pet product retailers in the UK, from Kester Capital.
• Working on the W&I insurance policy for SKLkonsern’s acquisition of an operational wind farm consisting of 55 wind turbines, generating 420 GWh annually, from Aquila Capital.
•  Working on the W&I insurance policy for Palatine’s acquisition of The Mole Clinic, specialising in skin cancer screening in the UK .
•  Working on the W&I insurance policy for Bridgepoint Advisers’ acquisition of Kerv Group, a provider of cloud-led, full-stack technology solutions and digital transformation services.

Jacob joined HWF in 2023, following his graduation from the University of Bath where he studied Biology. As part of his degree, he completed a placement at Investec in their wealth management division. Outside of work Jacob enjoys staying active and following sport.
